We held a very successful art exhibition at Farsite Gallery. Every child in the school showed at least one piece of their art work. We based our art works on our own community and our pictures showed views from classroom windows, Wellington Harbour, the hills and bush surrounding us, lighthouses, and the Hutt River. Families and friends who came through the gallery to view our art shared very positive comments about the students fantastic art works.
This term we have had 2 art workshops. The first one was learning how to draw using pencil techniques. The second one was drawing a New Zealand landscape. Some wonderful art work is being displayed in our school.

Our mural artists have completed their beautiful “Fruit Fall” mural, which has been installed on the wall by Rooms 8 and 9. The children are very proud of their work. They all learned heaps about shape, colour-mixing, using a ‘clean edge’ in their painting, composition and texture. What clever artists we have at our school!

The theme for Art week this year was Scarecrows! We worked in groups with children from all classes and had heaps of fun making lots of scarecrow crafts. Check out our pictures.
